Let's Move for Health Promotion of Sports" - Olympic Day 2025
 
Olympic Day, observed worldwide including Nepal on June 23rd every year, was celebrated grandly today at NOC Earthquake Memorial Multipurpose Hall, Olympic Day was marked globally on Monday under the theme "Let's Move for Health Promotion of Sports."
 
Under Olympic Day 2025, three days of festivities featuring 23 events were organized in Nepal. The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) concluded the celebrations today by organizing an Olympic Day Rally and Cycle Rally at Swayambhu. NOC President Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha inaugurated the Olympic Day Rally by transferring the Olympic torch to Olympian athletes.
 
NOC President Shrestha, extending his best wishes for Olympic Day 2025, emphasized the need to broaden the Olympic movement. He stressed that the spirit of the Olympics, promoting unity and peace, must be spread everywhere.
NOC Vice-President and Chairman of Olympic Day Coordination committee, Mr. Ashok Bajracharya, stated that they had successfully conveyed the Olympic message. He thanked everyone involved in organizing various competitions and programs that made Olympic Day 2025 a success.
 
NOC Secretary General Mr. Rajeev Shrestha highlighted that Olympic Day is not just a date on the calendar but a movement. "It is a movement to encourage participation in sports, lead a healthy and active life, and promote peace, inclusion, and unity through physical activity," he said.
 
The closing ceremony, which commenced with the hoisting of the Nepal national flag by Coordinator Bajracharya and the IOC flag by President Shrestha, featured demonstrations by Karate, Wushu, Judo, B-Boing group and cultural dance performance by Galaxy School. Similarly, certificates of appreciation were presented to associations that organized various competitions and programs during Olympic Day 2025.
