President of NOC Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrstha bade farewell to a 3-member Nepali team including 1 athlete from Nepal Weightlifting Asscociation who are leaving for Jeju, South Korea on Monday to participate in the Asian Weightlifting Championship.
Sagar Bhandar, a Scholorship holder from NOC for the Paris Olympics will compete in the men's 109 kg weight group in the tournament to be held from May 3 to 13. Sagar is the silver medalist of the 13th South Asian Games. The competition is also a qualification for the Paris Olympics.
Jeevan Gautam is the coach and Ramsundar Shrestha is the manager. Sagar will compete on May 13.
Chaturananda Raj Vaidya, Vice President and Executive Director of NOC, Ram Shrestha, President of Nepal Weightlifting Association and others were also present in the farewell program.
