NOC Bids Farewell to Officials Participating in AWF Championship and Congress

Acting President of the Nepal Olympic Committee Ashok Ratna Bajracharya, along with Vice President Jyoti Rana and Secretary General Rajiv Shrestha, bade farewell and extended best wishes to officials participating in the 2026 AWF Asian Senior Weightlifting Championships and the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) Congress in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

Nepal’s Gopal Shrestha has been selected as an International Technical Official (ITO) for the championship, which will be held from May 9 to 17, 2026.

Similarly, Secretary of the Nepal Olympic Committee and President of the Nepal Weightlifting Association Ram Krishna Shrestha and Olympian Rajendra Bahadur Pradhan have been invited to attend the AWF Congress scheduled from May 12, 2026.

During the farewell program, Acting President Bajracharya praised Ram Krishna Shrestha for the continuous international involvement and growing activities of the Nepal Weightlifting Association in global events.

Secretary General Rajiv Shrestha expressed confidence that Nepal’s increasing participation in international competitions, technical officiating, and sports administration would further strengthen and elevate the country’s sports sector. He also conveyed his best wishes for the successful participation of the Nepali delegation.

The program was also attended by Secretary of the Nepal Weightlifting Association Kumar Man Shrestha and other officials.
