“Training Workshop for School and Health Practitioners on NCD Risk Reduction and Sustained Physical Activity” organized by Health Concern in collaboration with PATH

Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Secretary Ram Krishna Shrestha participated in the multi-day “Training Workshop for School and Health Practitioners on NCD Risk Reduction and Sustained Physical Activity” organized by Health Concern in collaboration with PATH across Bharatpur, Khairahani, and Hetauda. The workshop brought together school sports teachers, health practitioners, youth clubs, and representatives from four municipalities—Khairahani Municipality, Ratnanagar Municipality, Kalika Municipality, and Rapti Municipality—to strengthen local capacity in promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing the risks of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). During the sessions, Mahendra Giri delivered a presentation on the impact of NCDs on students in Nepal, while Dr. Sirjana Adhikari facilitated discussions on integrating NCD awareness with sports and physical activity. Rajendra Thapa and Sanju Gautam also conducted sessions outlining the overall objectives of the program. Speaking during the workshop, Mr. Shrestha highlighted the important role of the Nepal Olympic Committee in promoting physical activity and supporting initiatives aimed at reducing NCD risks, emphasizing the importance of regular sports participation and sustained physical activity among youth.
