The 21st General Assembly of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) was held on Monday under the chairmanship of President Jeevan Ram Shrestha.

Secretary General Rajiv Shrestha presented a progress report on international competitions and programs participated in during 2025. Internal Auditor Rabin Bhusal tabled the financial statement for fiscal year 2081/82, while Chief Accountant Rajan Shrestha, representing Treasurer Tashi Ghale, presented the annual budget for 2026. Executive Secretary Sujan Lal Shrestha briefed the assembly on programs planned for 2026, which include four major international events.
Nepal is set to participate in the Asian Games in Japan, the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Saudi Arabia, the Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, and the Beach Games in China. The NOC will also organize Olympic Solidarity courses, a Fun Run, the Lumbini Peace Marathon, Sports Congress, Talent Hunt programs, International Olympic Day celebrations, and the NOC Awards.
The assembly proposed the formation of a Prevention on Manipulation of Sports (PMC) committee under the coordination of former athlete and former Nepal Police Additional Inspector General Kiran Bajracharya. It also paid tribute to martyrs of the Gen Z movement and welcomed the National Sports Council’s decision to participate in the Asian Games.
The General Assembly requested the handover of the NOC office in Satdobato and unanimously approved the Secretary General’s progress report, financial statement, annual budget, and 2026 program. Representatives from 23 sports federations attended the assembly.
In the inaugural session, Secretary General Shrestha delivered the welcome address. Vice President of the National and International Athletes’ Association Deepak Thapa, President of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum Niranjan Adhikari, and President of the Baseball and Softball Association Deepak Neupane extended best wishes.
Addressing the gathering, President Shrestha said the NOC is ready to work in collaboration with all stakeholders for the development of Nepali sports and athletes.
