Best wishes to Representatives from Nepal departing to Pakishtan for the Executive Committee Meeting of the South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC)

A delegation from the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) and the National Sports Council (NSC) has departed for Islamabad, Pakistan, to attend the Executive Committee Meeting of the South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC), scheduled to be held on 23–24 August 2026.

The meeting is being organised in connection with the preparations for the 14th South Asian Games 2027, which will be hosted by Pakistan.

The Nepalese delegation includes Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Olympic Committee; Mr. Chaturananda Raj Vaidya, Vice President of the Nepal Olympic Committee; and Ms. Sikka Suwal Shrestha, Executive Member of the National Sports Council.

The delegation was seen off at the airport by Acting President of the Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Ashok Ratna Bajracharya and Secretary General of the Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Rajiv Shrestha.

The meeting agenda includes the confirmation of the minutes of the previous SAOC Executive Committee Meeting held in Lahore, Pakistan, on 25 February 2025, as well as a review of the implementation of the decisions made during that meeting. The participants will also receive updates on the preparations for the 14th South Asian Games 2027 and discuss any other matters related to the successful organisation of the Games.

The programme will also include field visits to the proposed competition venues and other relevant sports infrastructure.
