NOC Athlete Scholarship for LA Olympics, Aichi Nagoya Asian Games and Dakar Youth Olympic Games

The NOC officially announced and signed the Road to LA Olympic Games 2028 initiative on 19 December 2025 in Kathmandu, marking an important step in Nepal’s long-term elite athlete development pathway.
Under the Olympic Athlete Scholarship Program, eight outstanding athletes, recognized as the best performers in their respective disciplines, have been selected to receive monthly financial support aimed at international competition exposure, high-performance training, and livelihood assistance in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Each athlete will receive a scholarship of USD 1125 per month from September 01, 2025 till LA Olympics 2028.
 
The selected athletes are:
1. Ms. Manita Shrestha Pradhan, Judo
2. Mr. Prince Dahal, Badminton
3. Ms. Evana Thapa, Table Tennis
4. Ms. Shivali Gurung, Tennis
5. Ms. Usha Khanal, Cycling
6. Mr. Tenzin Bertin Rai, Sport Climbing
7. Mr. Sadbhav Acharya, Golf
8. Mr. Ervin Shrestha, Swimming
 
This program is designed to provide structured, sustained, and athlete-centered support, reducing financial barriers and enabling Nepal’s top athletes to train and compete at international standards on the road to LA 2028.
 
In addition to the LA 2028-focused scholarships, the Nepal Olympic Committee announced the continuation of its NOC Athlete Scholarship Program to support athletes representing Nepal at major upcoming multi-sport events.
Athletes selected for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 and the Dakar Youth Olympic Games 2026 will receive monthly financial assistance of NPR 50,000/- from January 01, 2026 till the respective games. The scholarship recipients are:
